Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) | Large-Scale Commercial Projects | Austin
I’m working with a leading national General Contractor who are looking to bring on a Mechanical Engineer to support large-scale commercial projects in Austin.
This is a great opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of work, offering long-term progression and exposure to complex building systems.
The Opportunity You’ll play a key role across both preconstruction and delivery, supporting mechanical systems from early-stage estimating through to commissioning.
Projects are typically large commercial developments, where HVAC systems and MEP coordination are critical to successful delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Supporting HVAC and mechanical system design review and analysis
• Developing budgetary estimates based on schematic/design information
• Assisting with bid analysis and subcontractor selection
• Reviewing drawings and identifying constructability and quality issues
• Coordinating mechanical scopes during preconstruction and delivery
• Supporting sequencing, scheduling, and system integration
• Assisting with commissioning, testing, and closeout activities
• Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and design consultants
What They’re Looking For
• 8+ years’ experience in construction or engineering (MEP focus)
• Strong HVAC / mechanical systems experience
• Background with a General Contractor or MEP subcontractor
• Experience on large commercial projects
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and technical documents
• PE license is a plus, not essential
What’s On Offer
• Up to $160k base salary (depending on experience)
• Full benefits package • Relocation support available
• Long-term career progression within a national platform
• Opportunity to work across multiple large-scale projects nationwide
Why This Role?
This is a chance to join a well-established contractor with a strong reputation, where you’ll gain exposure to complex mechanical systems, work alongside experienced teams, and have clear progression as the business continues to grow.
If you have strong HVAC experience and are open to hearing more, happy to set up a quick, confidential chat.
