Job details

Position: Senior Director of Finance
Location: Miami/Fort Lauderdale with Travel to the Caribbean
Salary: $225,000 - $300,000

A leading construction and infrastructure organization is seeking a Senior Director of Finance to provide financial leadership across a major portfolio of complex projects and programs.

This is a senior, highly visible role for someone who can operate across construction finance, project controls, cash flow, compliance, forecasting, and executive reporting. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, operations, and project teams to bring financial discipline, commercial visibility, and stronger controls to large-scale construction work.

The Opportunity

This role will lead financial strategy, reporting, forecasting, and controls across a complex construction portfolio. You’ll play a key part in helping leadership understand financial performance, protect margin, manage risk, and make better commercial decisions.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading finance across large-scale construction projects and programs
  • Managing cash flow, forecasting, receivables, funding cycles, and financial risk
  • Overseeing project financials, P&L, work-in-place reporting, and cost controls
  • Improving financial governance, reporting standards, and internal controls
  • Supporting compliance, audit readiness, and documentation for complex funding environments
  • Partnering with project leadership, operations, and executive stakeholders
  • Building, mentoring, and developing finance and project controls teams

What We’re Looking For

  • 15+ years of experience in construction finance, accounting, or project controls leadership
  • Strong background in project-based financial reporting, forecasting, and cash management
  • Experience supporting complex construction portfolios or major infrastructure programs
  • Public, grant-funded, or federally funded project experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of compliance, audit readiness, cost allowability, and reimbursement processes
  • ERP systems experience and advanced Excel / financial modeling skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior leaders and operations teams

Why This Role?

This is not a traditional back-office finance position. It’s a business-critical leadership role where finance sits close to operations and directly influences how major construction programs are planned, controlled, and delivered.

For a finance leader who enjoys complex projects, commercial problem-solving, and high-impact decision-making, this is an opportunity to step into a visible role with real strategic influence.
