We are representing a rapidly growing digital infrastructure developer seeking a Director of Preconstruction to lead front-end project execution across large-scale hyperscale data center developments.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership opportunity focused on owning project readiness from early-stage planning through transition into construction.

The successful candidate will operate at the center of Development, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Construction - ensuring projects are commercially aligned, operationally executable, and positioned for successful delivery across a rapidly scaling mission critical portfolio.

The Opportunity
This individual will take ownership of preconstruction execution across one or more active data center developments, leading budgeting, scheduling, procurement strategy, subcontractor engagement, and construction readiness throughout the full preconstruction lifecycle.

The role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, commercial awareness, and operational leadership, with the expectation that this individual remains closely involved in the details of project execution while helping drive broader delivery strategy across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading all preconstruction diligence activities including constructability reviews, site analysis, and infrastructure coordination
Owning project budgeting, cost modeling, scheduling, and construction readiness activities
Driving procurement planning and strategy for major equipment and long-lead materials
Evaluating construction sequencing and delivery approaches to optimize timelines and reduce risk
Leading subcontractor engagement, prequalification, and labor strategy across projects
Developing scopes of work, bid packages, and RFP documentation
Partnering closely with Development, Engineering, Finance, and Construction leadership teams
Supporting permitting coordination and jurisdictional engagement alongside internal and external design teams
Tracking budgets, pricing, procurement health, and schedule assumptions throughout the project lifecycle
Providing leadership reporting around project readiness, delivery risk, and commercial positioning

Ideal Background
We are particularly interested in preconstruction and construction professionals with experience delivering technically complex mission critical or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong consideration will be given to individuals with:

5–10+ years of experience across preconstruction, estimating, project management, or construction leadership
Experience leading at least one full project lifecycle as the accountable owner
Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, procurement planning, and construction readiness
Technical understanding across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes
Experience working cross-functionally with finance, operations, engineering, and construction teams
Strong subcontractor engagement and procurement coordination experience
Excellent organizational, communication, and project leadership capabilities
A proactive, detail-oriented mentality with the ability to operate effectively within fast-paced growth environments
