Koda Staff is working exclusively with GAMING1 to hire a Senior Network & Platform Engineer to join its growing Platform Engineering organisation.
With more than 30 years of history, GAMING1 combines the stability of a family-owned business from Liège with the pace, scale, and ambition of a global technology organisation with more than 1,600 employees worldwide.
As part of a broader Platform Engineering scale-up, GAMING1 is investing heavily in giving Product Engineering teams a faster, safer, and more self-service infrastructure foundation — and this role will play a key part in making that happen.
This is a role for engineers who think beyond traditional networking — combining deep infrastructure expertise with automation, platform thinking, and developer enablement.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Network & Platform Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of network engineering and platform engineering, owning both the network fabric and the platform capabilities built on top of it.
You will treat infrastructure as code, build self-service capabilities with clear guardrails, and ensure Product Engineers can move quickly without infrastructure becoming a bottleneck.
Your Mission
- Build and evolve secure, scalable network platform capabilities
- Enable Product Engineers through self-service infrastructure and automation
- Embed security, reliability, and observability by default
- Eliminate operational friction through modern platform engineering practices
- Raise engineering standards across networking, automation, and platform reliability
Key Responsibilities
Network Platform Ownership
- Design, deploy, and maintain Fortinet-based network infrastructure
- Own platform capabilities across FortiGate, FortiSwitch, SD-WAN, BGP, IPsec, and L2/L3 networking
- Treat networking as code using Git-based workflows and automation-first practices
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible
- Develop automation and tooling that reduce manual operational work
- Continuously improve deployment consistency, speed, and repeatability
Self-Service Platform Enablement
- Build safe, scoped infrastructure primitives that Product Engineers can consume independently
- Create guardrails that balance autonomy with operational safety
- Remove infrastructure bottlenecks through platform-driven solutions
Security, Reliability & Observability
- Embed cybersecurity standards into infrastructure pipelines
- Partner closely with Security teams on threat modelling and compliance
- Implement telemetry and monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and related tooling
- Ensure reliability is measurable, observable, and continuously improved
Engineering Leadership
- Share expertise across the Platform Engineering organisation
- Mentor peers and help raise standards across automation, security, and reliability
- Evaluate new tools, technologies, and architectural improvements
